  2. Sports on a Schtick on April 23rd, 2010 7:22 pm

    LOL unbelievable.

  3. MrZDevotee on April 23rd, 2010 7:22 pm

    Fritz-

Me: “JJ in the bullpen… Bring in JJ!!! We can win this.”

I was very careful. Yes, sir. (And let’s give Lopey props for holding off that 1st strike on the outside corner that he normally would have grounded out feebily on to 2nd.

    Nice at bat, Lopez!

  4. djw on April 23rd, 2010 7:22 pm

That Putz trade just keeps giving and giving…

  5. Stevenrey on April 23rd, 2010 7:23 pm

Lopez angers me all the time, then every now and then does the theatrical.

Putz hasn’t controlled his wild style yet.

  6. wtnuke on April 23rd, 2010 7:23 pm

Wow, how’s that for timely hitting?

  7. Diehard on April 23rd, 2010 7:23 pm

They’ve got this. Bring in League, Lowe, and the DA and hopefully we will be 10-7!

  8. wtnuke on April 23rd, 2010 7:24 pm

Putz and Thornton? Is this just the M’s old bullpen?

  9. Rboyle0628 on April 23rd, 2010 7:25 pm

LOPEZ!!! WHAT A TIME!!! WHATTTTTTT A TIME!! I didn’t get to see it but he is the 2nd basemen on my fantasy league team and I refreshed the page to check stats and suddenly I see Lopez: 1/4. 1 run, 1 home run and 4 RBI. I think I just woke up my dorm!

  10. fiftyone on April 23rd, 2010 7:26 pm

Props to Jose. He deserves it.

  11. Diehard on April 23rd, 2010 7:26 pm

What a way to make a terrible game turn into an interesting one. Thought this was going to be a loss for sure after watching the 6th.

  12. Liam on April 23rd, 2010 7:27 pm

They’ve got this. Bring in League, Lowe, and the DA and hopefully we will be 10-7!

    Or Sean White. Yeah.

  13. wtnuke on April 23rd, 2010 7:27 pm

    STOP BRINGING IN SEAN WHITE!

  14. Diehard on April 23rd, 2010 7:27 pm

    Why is White out there???

  15. naviomelo on April 23rd, 2010 7:28 pm

Wak comes back with Sean White?

  16. wtnuke on April 23rd, 2010 7:29 pm

“We’ll see how Don Wakamatsu wants to play it now”

Obviously he wants to fall for his own belief system. Sean White my arse…

  17. Glen on April 23rd, 2010 7:30 pm

Wak comes back with Sean White?

Sometimes I swear that Wak thinks he is managing Little League and everyone has to play.

  18. littlesongs on April 23rd, 2010 7:31 pm

Lopez should like this park a little better than Safeco…

I’m just hammering plastic keys to shoot out electrons here and somewhere else they emerge as joy?

    Yes Joser, joy.

  19. wtnuke on April 23rd, 2010 7:31 pm

And sure enough, there’s Wak on the phone as if he didn’t know this was going to be a problem.

  20. Liam on April 23rd, 2010 7:31 pm

Sometimes I swear that Wak thinks he is managing Little League and everyone has to play.

Well, Sean White hasn’t pitched in four days so it is his turn.

  21. Carson on April 23rd, 2010 7:31 pm

I really dislike Wak’s bullpen management.

  22. Diehard on April 23rd, 2010 7:33 pm

    Thank goodness for double plays!

  23. Des71 on April 23rd, 2010 7:33 pm

Walk Konerko! Do not pitch to Paulie.

  24. wtnuke on April 23rd, 2010 7:34 pm

A triple play might have been sexy there.

  25. egreenlaw9 on April 23rd, 2010 7:35 pm

I can see one member of the bullpen we don’t need…

  26. ewdewald on April 23rd, 2010 7:37 pm

Well, Sean White hasn’t pitched in four days so it is his turn

I get that, but how many opportunities are we going to have to bring in our best relievers in such a high-leverage situation. Tonight, you have to say it’s the best time to bring in your best arms.

Burn White in some other 3-run game.

  27. MarinerFanMike03 on April 23rd, 2010 7:40 pm

We still need a big bat dont we? I mean, we cant keep on relying on big plays to win us games right? //sigh//

  28. fiftyone on April 23rd, 2010 7:42 pm

Funny what happens when we don’t play our best players.

  29. Des71 on April 23rd, 2010 7:44 pm

Dave Sims is close to becoming more annoying than the man who once occupied his spot on Mariner television broadcasts. Very close.

  30. dingbatman on April 23rd, 2010 7:44 pm

was that pitch as freakin high as it looked on gameday???

  31. Des71 on April 23rd, 2010 7:45 pm

Yes, it was higher than the Space Needle.

  32. Liam on April 23rd, 2010 7:47 pm

    Dave Sims is the man.

  33. MeanMachine on April 23rd, 2010 7:47 pm

I just want to appologize to Lopez for all the bad things i said about him in the last hour. All is forgiven, atleast until he makes another horrible out. I think that salami was worth 3 bad abs. Say goodbye to Sweeney. Bye Sweeney!

  34. Des71 on April 23rd, 2010 7:49 pm

“Nothing beats the sound of Pac-10 Baseball.” Lady Gaga beats the sound of horrible aluminum bats hitting baseballs. I won’t watch college baseball for the reason of aluminum bats alone. Ban them!

  35. Stevenrey on April 23rd, 2010 7:51 pm

Dave Sims is close to becoming more annoying than the man who once occupied his spot on Mariner television broadcasts. Very close.

    I’m of your opinion entirely.

Between this outburst and your one in the game 16 recap, your dorm must think you to be quite the annoyance!

  37. Liam on April 23rd, 2010 8:02 pm

Is that someone holding up a political sign behind home plate? (Red sign, “Junkas”)

  38. Diehard on April 23rd, 2010 8:08 pm

ugh…hanging breaking balls are no good Lowe.

  39. Des71 on April 23rd, 2010 8:09 pm

    Terrible. Just terrible.

  40. griffin on April 23rd, 2010 8:09 pm

Grand Slam all for nothing, ha a walk off homer. Bummer.

  41. enazario on April 23rd, 2010 8:10 pm

If Aaron called that pitch it was a bad call.

  42. MarinerFanMike03 on April 23rd, 2010 8:10 pm

One of these days we will have consistant hitting from every player.

  43. nvn8vbryce on April 23rd, 2010 8:11 pm

My question is “would AA have been any better in this situation?” I understand that Wak probably didn’t want to be burning out his closer in a tied game, but I would also think that AA would have been the best person in the situation.

  44. Holmes on April 23rd, 2010 8:14 pm

That’s twice this season Lowe has given up walk offs by hanging his slider. It bothers me he has been beaten on his secondary pitches, and not his best pitch, HIS 98 MPH FASTBALL WHICH HE CAN LOCATE.

  45. griffin on April 23rd, 2010 8:20 pm

Especially with the bases open. Man, so frustrating.
