Game 32, Mariners at Orioles

Lee vs Hernandez, 4:05 pm.

First off, don’t expect any recaps this week. I get the pleasure of being blacked out of Baltimore games thanks to MLB.tv’s insane territorial rights, and my family is flying out for the weekend, so I won’t be around much in the next few days.

Wak shakes up the line-up again, dropping Junior to seventh in the order. Langerhans plays first again, though at this point, you have to wonder if it’s because of Kotchman’s sore ankle or the fact that he hasn’t been hitting for the last few weeks.

Ichiro, RF
Figgins, 2B
Gutierrez, CF
Lopez, 2B
Langerhans, 1B
Josh Wilson, SS
Griffey, DH
Johnson, C
Saunders, LF

Last comment of the night for those of you bent out of shape that two players ratted out Griffey.

NOW an anonymous source told Tim Kurkjian that Griffey cried during today’s team meeting.

I guess the message that “what happens in the clubhouse stays in the clubhouse” didn’t sink in.

So, bhdollman, are you going to post your pro-Griffey screed in every single comment thread on this site for the rest of the season?

He has every right to do that, just like those posting their anti-Griffey screed after every at-bat.

Interesting tweets from Ken Rosenthal, who is in Baltimore. He is quoting Sweeney:

Sweeney called #Mariners’ meeting: “We will support and fight and take a bullet for Ken Griffey Jr. if we have to. He’s our teammate…”

“Nothing is going to divide this clubhouse, especially a makeshift article made up of lies…”

“We don’t think there are two players who said that (about Griffey sleeping). I challenged everyone in that room – if they said that to …

“…stand up and fight me. No one stood up.”

So much for what happens in the clubhouse stays in the clubhouse, eh, Mike?

Also, if you didn’t think those people existed wouldn’t just asking without the fight rider attached be more logical?

Oh, thanks for clearing that up.
