will it be aardsma coming up?

  2. juneau_fan on May 14th, 2010 7:05 pm

I don’t know if my blood pressure can take DA in the ninth of a close game with a good team.

  3. seahopp on May 14th, 2010 7:07 pm

at least the ump is calling it both ways

  4. henryv on May 14th, 2010 7:07 pm

    Wow.

Aardsma got a generous strike call there.

  5. lalo on May 14th, 2010 7:08 pm

    Aardsma with a good outing

  6. MarinerFanMike03 on May 14th, 2010 7:08 pm

    @Seahopp & King.Dome, I looked at the pitchfx, it was there. //sigh//

  7. henryv on May 14th, 2010 7:09 pm

Oh god, was the Jack Wilson shaking Mike Sweeney’s hand? If the M’s lose, I’m blaming them.

  8. badperson_ny on May 14th, 2010 7:09 pm

I live in NY and can’t figure out why the game is blacked out by mlbtv…a game in Tampa? total rip off…I’m listening to the radio feed.

  9. seahopp on May 14th, 2010 7:10 pm

Thank god, we needed that badly!

  10. MarinerFanMike03 on May 14th, 2010 7:10 pm

BLAMO! DA strikes him out. This was a well fought game!

  11. scott19 on May 14th, 2010 7:10 pm

    Wow…Double-A with a 1-2-3 ninth…yowsah!!

  12. Glen on May 14th, 2010 7:10 pm

Sweeneys back looks like it is starting to act up on him as he was running out after the last SO.

  13. juneau_fan on May 14th, 2010 7:11 pm

Okay, I’ll watch this game in replay.

  14. roulf on May 14th, 2010 7:12 pm

@badperson_ny, if its blacked out and shouldn’t be, you can give them a call to try and sort it out. You may need to provide a CC to prove you live in NY, but they should be able to fix it. (Unless for some reason it is supposed to be blacked out, but that would be pretty lame)

Sweeney with back to back games with homers! New whipping boy needed.

  16. seahopp on May 14th, 2010 7:12 pm

    What is Sweeney talking about????

  17. henryv on May 14th, 2010 7:12 pm

Gives you an idea of just how much power George Steinbrenner has.

Oh, good. Mike Sweeney with the sappy Junior love in the post game interview.

  19. JerBear on May 14th, 2010 7:12 pm

I’m sure Sweeney is a super nice guy, but this lap-dog act he’s been pulling for Jr. is almost embarrassing…

  20. Coolalvin206 on May 14th, 2010 7:13 pm

That’s baseball for ya .. lose against the worst team one night …beat the best the next.

  21. henryv on May 14th, 2010 7:13 pm

OMG, I just saw Sweeney’s slide.

    That is AWESOME.

  22. JTP224 on May 14th, 2010 7:14 pm

Please tell me someone else heard Sweeney’s post game interview. He was asked something like where his hitting came from today and he said, “From Junior.” Huh?

  23. Lauren, token chick on May 14th, 2010 7:14 pm

Now I feel guilty, since lalo’s fallen silent. Please chime in, lalo, I just can’t deal with the “this happened, therefore that player sucks” and “this happened, therefore the hitting coach is the best” rationales.

  24. juneau_fan on May 14th, 2010 7:14 pm

Oh, good. Mike Sweeney with the sappy Junior love in the post game interview.

I had to change the channel.

  25. seahopp on May 14th, 2010 7:14 pm

Maybe its a strategy to make fans not feel bad when, if he keeps playing at this level for the rest of the series, he is the reason that Junior leaves.

  26. IwearMsHats on May 14th, 2010 7:16 pm

Does anyone think he’s being sappy for a reason? Either Junior retiring soon or being released? If so, he very well should be sappy. Junior may be too old to produce, but he’s still a legend and paramount in making this franchise what it is today.

  27. JMHawkins on May 14th, 2010 7:16 pm

That’s baseball for ya .. lose against the worst team one night …beat the best the next

You mean the Rays are going to beat themselves tommorrow night?

  28. Utis on May 14th, 2010 7:18 pm

If that’s what it takes for Sweeney to get motivated, I am not going to argue.

Would you complain if Jr were to retire and the Mariners dedicated a winning season to him?

  29. scott19 on May 14th, 2010 7:23 pm

Gives you an idea of just how much power George Steinbrenner has.

I was thinking that, too. Can’t let anybody else within earshot of NYC enjoy their team when The Greatest Sports Franchise In The Universe is playing — even if they’re paying for an mlb.tv subscription to get it.

  30. msb on May 14th, 2010 7:39 pm

Well, there is miracle number one.

  31. Koala on May 14th, 2010 7:40 pm

Wow, Adam Moore and Sweeney with homers. It must be raining frogs.

  32. MBK on May 14th, 2010 7:43 pm

“Is that the kind of production you want from a DH?”

    Yes, please.

  33. MarinerFanMike03 on May 14th, 2010 7:48 pm

“Is that the kind of production you want from a DH?”

    Yes, please.

To further that statement, yes you want your DH to actually PRODUCE!!.

I love a win as much as the next person but cmon, lets not get on the Sweeney for MVP bandwagon just yet.

Nobody is calling him MVP, but maybe some of the people who cry when Sweeney gets a hit will get off his back some.
