Game 82, Royals at Mariners

Bannister vs Hernandez, 7:10 pm.

Happy Felix Day. Also, Sad But Predictable Bedard Day, as he’s been scratched from tomorrow’s start because his shoulder hurts. He’s seeing a doctor today. Yup.

Bradley’s out of the line-up again, but that’s probably mostly due to Kotchman’s performance the last few days. Wak has become a slave to the hot hand this year in his search for offense, and so he’s once again playing an inferior player due to a recent stretch of good performance. It’s a bad idea, but we’ll get into that more later this week.

Ichiro, RF
Figgins, 2B
Branyan, DH
Lopez, 3B
Gutierrez, CF
Kotchman, 1B
Johnson, C
Jack Wilson, SS
Saunders, LF

Rizzs and Blowers have both sounded sauced tonight. Like they’re– both– leaning on something just to keep from falling over.

“Second verse (half) same as the first”

    Shit-stank mo-de-fo choking bastards.

0-2 fastball to Uni? He could have thrown the pitch a foot over his head and he would have swung at it. An inch off the plate inside? Nice!

    Juneau–
You should hear her now– quoting again.

“That’s like two miracles in one at bat… Lopez walked, AND he did it at a time it mattered…”

    God, I love her.

It all comes down to Casey Kotchman… Our offensive equivalent to Sean White.

β€œWhat have we done to deserve this? WHAT?!?”

Obviously Bobby stole the Baseball Gods tiki.

    Yeah, Kotchman’s who I want up right–wait, a hit!

ETA: MrsZ does sound like a keeper! A couple who can curse their baseball team together is set for life!

    Dear Mr. Blowers,

The name of my hometown is pronounced with the accent on the second syllable and a short i, not a long e, in the first syllable.

Unless you’re a Detroit native who lived in the projects, which you’re not, alternate pronunciations are not allowed.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

    Sorry Felix…
It would have been wrong to pitch you 120+ (which I absolutely agree)… But it sure would have been more attractive…

    (sigh)

(Especially after hearing that stat… Felix leads the league in quality starts… with 15!)

    Ball game.

And as the stage was set, with the 3-2 pitch about to come, FSN shows the on-deck hitter, and right behind him in the first row, in a seat I can only dream of sometime having, is a guy texting.

    Seattle fans. πŸ™

Quote from my brother- “(bleeping) (crude term for female genitalias) can’t (bleeping) win in extra frames to save their (bleeping bleeps)!”

Yeah, I’m the seether, he’s the yeller. That’s how it works.

What if that guy was texting “I sold one of my kidneys to get these tickets, and after a good Felix start I’ve watched the team blunder away every chance and let the Royals back into it… and now I can’t bear to look up and see Bard end it all.”

Truly in a League of his own. At times watching this team is like eating a shit sandwich.

    … without the bread.

This was the first game of the year that I have gone to… I only went because it was a great matchup for the King… man, that was hard to watch them blow that.
