Pennant race baseball, right in your backyard. Former M’s prospect Jeff Heaverlo joins Curto in the booth.

He is getting behind the hitters, not good. But his fastball is legit.

This camera work is really painful to watch.

My favorite part is when they go from the light to the shadow.

Curto is just great, btw. I hope some other team doesn’t snatch him. I’d love to have him be the heir to Seattle’s microphone.

Heaverlo isn’t terrible at colour commentary either.

At this point I think we might as well shut Pineda down for the season. Not a whole lot of point to running him out there another start after this one if he’s faring poorly and falling behind against a horrible team.

I concur. And considering that I think Dave Niehaus is getting frustrated with this team (based on his calls on the radio) I wouldn’t be surprised to see him step away in the near future.

Maybe some agreement is already there…

What is with Tug Hulett? His minor league numbers seem decent and he’s been on a tear recently…is he anything to write home about or is it just the small sample size phenomenon?

The Boston Red Sox sent him back, I believe. And they have people are their 25 man roster who are technically dead.

Just to give you an idea of what the league thinks of him.

Curto gets into an awful game better than Dave does, that’s for sure.

USA Today Minor League Player of the Year my ass LOL. At least the Rainiers bats are red hot as well.

There’s a 16 mph wind blowing out to center.

Look at his walks and K’s, too.

I really like when the game is bad, and Dave gets going on the radio, and he basically ignores the game. Sometimes I wish they would just let Dave sit down pregame and talk for an hour or two. I would listen…

Mike Carp is playing in left.

    Garblevarglevarse!

Wow i one of the very few times Tacoma is on tv, and Pineda gets knocked around and Ackley goes
1 for 5 but at least i got to see the great prospect that is Mike carp hit two Homers.
    (sarcasm)

In our top 2 levels of the organization we have Tui and Carp playing left field.

    Seriously?!?

I mean, why not just play Lopez is left in the bigs, and put Nelson out there in Tacoma?

Might wanna see if Rob Johnson can play shortstop, too….

    I’m going to cry.

There is no way in hell Brad Nelson weighs anywhere near the 260 the team lists him at.

I liked it when he was playing left. Because they had Tommy Everidge playing DH.

It’s not often you can measure player’s weights in Ichiros.

“Yeah, our left fielder weights 3 Ichiros, and our DH weighs 2 Ichiros.”

Can someone explain why Brad Nelson is still on the Rainiers? I liked last year’s crop of AAAA first basemen (LaHair and Shelton) better. At least they could hit.
