Haren vs Hernandez, 7:10 pm.
Happy Felix Day.
Posting will be a little bit sparse the next few days as I travel westward. I’ll be on a plane most of the day tomorrow, then spending time with friends and family when not hosting the USSM event on Saturday at Safeco. Hopefully I’ll see a bunch of you this weekend. Posting will resume a more normal schedule next week.
Ichiro, RF
Figgins, 2B
Branyan, DH
Lopez, 3B (yes, he’s still here)
Kotchman, 1B
Gutierrez, CF
Saunders, LF
Moore, C
Josh Wilson, SS

It’s noble the way Lopez continues to take up the #4 role for the team, clearly volunteering for abuse and failure so that the rest of the lineup can feel more comfortable and be more productive. What a true Mariner.
Haren should be happy today. I’m thinking a 1-0 loss when Felix gets taken out after 8 and Aardsma blows the lead.
I’m conflicted. I want to watch Felix pitch, and I want to watch Saunders, Guti, and Ichiro play the outfield. But I don’t want to watch Baby Steps hitting into double plays or “running” at all; and I don’t want to watch Kotchman ground out several times.
I have a lot of money on the over/under of 6 for this game. Let’s just say that I am confident.
I have to give Lopez a little credit. At least he is playing up to his potential.
With the recent news about Strasburg’s arm exploding, I appreciate Felix all the more. I’ll be listening tonight as I work, but I hope to see him pitch Sunday.
All season long, following Strasburg’s debut, it was agonizing, knowing how close the Ms were to getting him, with his half-season looking like he would live up to the hype. As bad as this season has gone, I’d be twice as miserable if we actually had drafted Strasburg, gotten rolled by Bora$ on the contract, and then had him go down as he did.
Darthbuhner, oh man, that would be a 5 point bag of salt in a very large wound.
therealmariners on twitter shows Branyan hitting 4th and Lopez 5th….. I guess the mystery will solve itself in 20 minutes.
On which side … the “over” or the “under.” Hopefully you didn’t bet both equally and lose the Vig. I assume you took the under. I hope you at least made it clear to your bookie (err, financial consultant) what you wanted.
Under, ofcourse
Sasaki!
that was awesome…
Thank god Felix has cat like reflexes.
Way to go Lopie… way to look indifferent to the game as well.
The Mariners must lead MLB in 6.5 totals this season. I can’t recall the last time I saw a 6.0 total. 6.0 in MLB is like a 20.5 in a NFL game.
Lopez isn’t affected by his position in the batting order – he quickly adapts to make an out, no matter which spot he’s in.
Ugh. As soon as Branyan walked, I knew what was going to happen.
Let’s bat him tenth.
Time for an ichiro bunt with two on and two out.
That will help keep it under 6! Moore is collaborating with our gambler. (I unfortunately just took Felix at -130)
This team simply does not hit well enough to afford baserunning errors. Seriously, how much would it take to fix this problem? 10 minutes a day on a drill?
The Huskies went 0-12 two years ago. They hsd little talent and played like many members of the team simply didn’t care enought to try.
This Mariner’s team reminds me of that Husky squad.
Good grief! After all the crap baserunning this season, and apparently stii no one has reinforced the concept of “LOOK AT THE THIRD BASE COACH, DUMMY!!!”?
How can this STILL be happening?
Figgins… needs to move back to third.
Dont tell me the announces are not bored by this team. That was 4 pitches in that at bat without a word spoken by any of the three there.
Or they’re not talking about the game when they are talking.
BOOOO Lopez you suck!!!
Lopie is terrible, Jack, please dump him to the Rockies and callup Mangini or any, 40 min left to the deadline
10 wins with the M´s is like 40 with the Yanks, Felix deserves the Cy Young, 10 wins with the M´s this season only Felix can…
Are we really in a position to score a run? Wow – that would be great.
For those interested, ESPN 2 is showing the story about the 1982 Kirkland Little League Baseball team … at 9:00 tonight.
I watched that this afternoon… not what I expected. Kind of a downer.
Wow, what a completely unpredictable outcome for a Brandon League appearance.
Poor Felix…
Guti looks like Yuni at the plate, why?? Last season was good for him
Speaking of downers…
Tui is the fastest pinch runner we have? :/
Hey, I’ve seen this one before! Corners with one out, a walk and then…..
TUI – WTF???? You were LUCKY.
WHAT IS WITH THESE IDIOTS??
C’mon, Condor…
Yeah!
(although his swing looked like he swung up at 45 degrees…)
WOO HOO!!
lolz, did Moore just throwing the bat in the general direction of the incoming ball?
Kotchman scored… but our coaches need to be fired. Seriously.
Sending him was flat-out STUPID.
He looked a bit confused, didn’t he?
oh my gosh, Ichiro was safe there
I want to see a replay on that. I honestly think he was safe. It should be 4-1
Man, it’s dangerous behind the plate tonight…
That over/under doesn’t look as good since QQrdsma came in, eh?
WOW, spoke too soon. Kotchman is a BEAST at 1b, and unfortunately, only at 1b.
I hate baseball stats. Felix was a stud for 7 innings, gave up 3 hits, no runs…… NO DECISION. Brandon League goes ((( 1 ))) inning, gives up 2 hits, 1 run………….. and this moron gets the Win!!!
Not exactly a vulcher by League, but not exactly a great win either.
I really am excited. “and the Mariners do the impossible. They pull a tooth out of a hen” the Mariners finally win a clutch game.
Yeah, I’m not sure how it could be reworked without subjectivity coming into play, but – Felix was the most important contributor to the Mariners tonight, obviously.
Heck, for a large percentage of our games this year I’d prefer the loss go to someone other than a pitcher, actually. Our position players deserve those losses!
Amen, Westside guy! Figgins’s record would be like 1-24 if that were true!
I expect all of our infielders would have losing records.
