That is one pathetic looking lineup. Gio should have no problem carving up the M’s tonight. Of all the baseball teams out there, why do I have to like the Mariners?
Go go 1-3 hitters…. Somebody needs to invent a way for 4,5,6 to focus their collective suckage…maybe they could influence the ball to go over the plate dead center and mid-thigh…

It will be a relief when the beatdown is finally over.
Brown is very unimaginative. I envision the Mariners (*cough*LOPEZ*cough*) hitting into several double plays today.
If Tui’s not good enough to displace a veteran even in a meaningless September… I’d rather see Langerhans in left, with Tui being our “super sub” who can fill in for anyone who might go down.
After all, Tui is very flexible and can suck equally badly at most any position in the infield or outfield.
Anyone think that Seattle should pick up the tab for all the alcohol they’ve caused their fans to consume over the course of this dreadful year?
Did Coco Crisp actually get his hair braided between games? How odd? I think that takes hours. It was a ‘fro one of the games because his hat popped off when he ran.
I’m also happy to see he’s FINALLY stopped that finger wiggling thing while waiting for the pitch. Even more than Normar’s OCD fiddling with his gloves, that drives me wild.
Er, the game. YAH to a lead!

The voodoo whammy I put on the A’s pitchers is working perfectly. They are really embarrassing themselves in front of their fan.
I like French, he is a guy who can throw 5 or 6 scoreless innings, not a lot of strikeouts, but is a decent 5 starter like Vargas, and his AAA ERA was very good

Don’t exaggerate – there are several dozen people at the game.
The thing I like best about French? He might not even be the best pitcher the M’s got in the trade for Washburn.
You know, it’s possible — when taking into account the local taxes on alcohol and the financing of the stadium — that the entire M’s business plan hinges on making as many people in Seattle drink as much alcohol as possible. I’d go into more detail, but I’m too drunk to think it through….
Ichiro now needs 18 hits in the next 22 games to keep his perfect and incredible record of 200 hits per season intact.
Yeah, gotta be careful with Lopez.

I just realized with that little tribute that I can’t name a single Pirates player these days.

I’d say they should get him to negate his damage, but I thought the same thing about Figgins.
Actually, I didn’t want Figgins, I wanted him to go far, far away, like to the Astros, but figured at least on the team, he couldn’t hurt them anymore.

I am surprised they didn’t throw in Sean White. It’s a tight game, they need a ground ball. Don’t they know how much we want to see White?
