Meetings Coverage

As you guys almost certainly know, the winter meetings are down in Orlando this week, and for the first time, I’ll be in attendance. What that means for the site is that I probably won’t be around to write ridiculously long missives on each deal as soon as they happen, but I will try to make up for it with some interesting content that can only be gathered by being down there. We’ll probably do a live chat or two, though they might be a bit shorter than the ones we’ve done previously. I might toss up some video responses, since I’ll have a camera down there and it will be faster for me to record and upload a reaction than to type one out.

It’s going to be different, and I don’t totally know what it will look like, honestly. But, if you want immediate coverage from the home front, I suggest checking out Lookout Landing, where Jeff Sullivan will almost certainly be covering trades as they happen with his unique brand of analysis and MS Paint. He and I have the same opinion on everything anyway.

You guys do great work around here and I think some insight as to what actually goes on down there would much more important than a trade.

Besides, its not you like there is an abundance of baseball news that couldn’t be pushed to the back burner.

He and I have are the same dude, anyway.

I swear, you both know exactly what stories you’re going to run.

Just found out about the Werth contract and couldn’t believe it. If a guy like Saunders reaches his full potential he could be outproducing Werth in terms of WAR by 2013 or even 2012. Any free agent market that leads to contracts like this is one I want no part of. I don’t even know that I want the M’s pursuing mid level free agents in a market like this. Let the kids play and let’s find out just what the Mariners have in 2011. Free agent markets tend to swing and I could see a big swing downward next year after all the spending this offseason.

I am not one who uses twitter much, or even has an account for that matter, but last year DMZ (I think) put together a link with all the people at the Winter Meetings who were tweeting. It was a great place/way to get breaking news. Anyway someone could throw that together again?
