Cactus League Game 3, Rangers at M’s

This game is new and different in that instead of the Padres, we’re facing the defending American League champion Texas Rangers. I thought long and hard before typing that one out and it didn’t seem to make it any easier.

RF Ichiro!
3B Figgins
LF Bradley
DH Cust
C Olivo
1B Kennedy
CF Gutierrez
2B Ackley
SS Ja. Wilson
P Robertson

Can you spot the outlier?

Nate Robertson’s gameday photo vaguely resembles RR-S’, if Hyphen didn’t smile. He’ll be followed by Beaven, Lueke, Cortes, and Jose Flores, so this could be somewhat interesting. Guti is back in the lineup after the stomach thing.

Yes, it’s spring training, so it’s irrelevant now, but I think I’ll be lobbing Molotov cocktails at some offices in Safeco while brandishing my pitchfork if I see Adam Kennedy playing 1B for the Mariners at any point during the 2011 AL championship season.

Change that pitchfork to a trident and I’m on board.

Uhhhhh…. Kennedy just hit a dinger. I’m placing this one squarely on you, ec.

If Bradley gets run out into left field with any regularity – what’s the over/under on how many innings before he goes on the DL?

    Wait… Brett Tomko?

Now Arthur Rhodes? It’s like old home week!

    Don’t forget Endy Chavez.

If Adrian Beltre were playing, the amount of ex M’s in this game would just be ridiculous

Robertson may look like RR-S, but he certainly didn’t throw like him. It’s the first start of the spring, but he looked good.

Steve Baron hitting a home run is not unprecedented, but rare enough to be gawked at.

Who would of guessed that Steve Baron would hit a Home Run before Ackley got a hit this spring?

Ackley did walk twice today – but I’m sure somewhere there’ll be comments to the effect of “he hasn’t got a hit yet, he needs to swing the bat more”. 😀

I just can’t watch these guys even though I love baseball. I want the Mariners to do well. Where the hell is my buy-in? When guys like Saunders, Moore & Smoak are out of the lineup my interest is zero. Nice to see Ackley I guess but I know he won’t be invited to stay.
