    RE: Pineda “The Terminator”

…AND! Recreate this photo of Arnold holding the huge gun in his right hand, with Pineda instead.

    Pineda- The Terminator

Thank you first-time 1st baseman! An experienced guy comes off the bag for the ball and makes the swing-tag…

Yes, having Jones and Guti would be amazing. But I also feel like we probably wouldn’t have traded for Guti if we still had Jones, so oh well. If it turns out Bedard continues to return to form, and sticks in Seattle for awhile, the point may become moot.

If we’re talking Pineda nicknames, how about “The Black Mamba?” It has a perfect ring to it, and they’re both kind of deadly.

  5. G-Man on June 1st, 2011 2:19 pm

I’d love to have both Guti and Jones out there, but isn’t it safe to assume that if we still had Jones in CF then Z wouldn’t have made the trade for Guti?

I have thought so, and it was a great trade.

Of course, who knows if JZ would have been able to come up with something else good for Putz, et al.

Kobe is called “Black Mamaba”, I would hate to have his name remind me of him and the NBA. I would prefer “Terminator”. Sounds more final, and menacing.

As much disdain as I have for Bavasi, Re; the Adam Jones trade, there is no way he could have known Bedard was going to have arm troubles…

Here’s a quickie picture of El Terminator!

    Nice darth’!

    That pic is awesome Darth…

  11. Auggeydog on June 1st, 2011 2:46 pm

I like it, is there anyway to copy it?

  12. darthbuhner on June 1st, 2011 2:48 pm

Should be able to just right-click and save, I think. Or you can always do a print-screen, and crop, or copy-paste from Paint, or other picture/art programs.

Ugh – our offense is face-planting like Olivo sliding into first base today.

Adam Jones beating us yet again.

  14. Ichirolling51 on June 1st, 2011 2:50 pm

Would I get in trouble if I killed Bavasi?

  15. Auggeydog on June 1st, 2011 2:52 pm

It says it is copyrighted, I will try a few other things.

  16. jordan on June 1st, 2011 2:53 pm

I don’t know if I have ever seen a harder hit ball than that shot by Jones there.

  17. darthbuhner on June 1st, 2011 2:55 pm

I think you might have to log into Flickr to save their pictures now. >shrug< Sorry!

Jones beating Pineda will be a gut punch. C'mon Smoak, save us!

Got it thanks, just a couple extra steps.

Time for the M’s with another come from behind win.

  19. mlathrop3 on June 1st, 2011 3:14 pm

Our margin of error is very low. Another great starting pitching performance wasted.

  20. darthbuhner on June 1st, 2011 3:20 pm

Ugh. This was a painful flashback to some of last year’s debacles, where Felix or Cliff Lee would give up 1 or no runs, and the Ms would lose.

I’m still recovering from the game where Lee debuted, and the Ms didn’t score a single run in 12 innings, capped off by Eric Byrnes botched suicide squeeze.

Time to pull the trigger! Carp to LF, Ackley to 2nd, Kennedy to 3rd, Figgins on the bench, Peguero and Saunders to Tacoma. Let’s not wait and allow these pitching performances to be wasted any longer. The top two hitters in Tacoma, Carp and Ackley, are destroying the ball. THAT IS what Tacoma is for, isn’t it? If you can succeed at the highest down there, you should be able to take over a job up in the bigs??? At least that is what I always thought… maybe I’m completely off on why we have the minors and big league teams have minor league affiliates.

I wouldn’t call it wasted, I got to watch another superior pitching performance from Pineda. He lowered is ERA a little, got some more experience under his belt. And he put us in position to win.

Just like Bedard’s performance last night, was that wasted until Smoak hit his 3 run HR, I don’t think so. Even if we did go on to lose pitching performances like that are valuable in their own right.

  23. mlathrop3 on June 1st, 2011 3:42 pm

I put money on the M’s today, so my $5 was definitely wasted…

Did we have a consensus on the other thread that Carp could even attempt to play LF?

  24. marinerblue on June 1st, 2011 4:01 pm

I think we’re getting very close to having a large enough sample size to say with certainty that Saunders blows.

How about a realistic scenario, Figgins to DFA, Saunders to Tacoma, Ackley to LF. Carp probably needs another organization, no place to play him here. With the exception of Figgins, the infield is fine. And Ackley will probably never be a decent 2nd baseman. It’s a much tougher position to play than most understand, and he’s never played any high intensity defensive position. And while I’m at it, I’d like to see Josh Bard as the backup catcher. Nothing personal against Gimenez, I just like Bard

  26. sexymarinersfan on June 1st, 2011 4:59 pm

It’d be nice if we could find an organization that has a slew of OF talent that is short on 1B talent and swap Carp.

  27. marinerblue on June 1st, 2011 5:21 pm

    Carp in for Cust?

  28. MisterEd on June 1st, 2011 5:38 pm

    Pineda = THE BIG COLADA

one of you bartenders out there..invent a PINEDA COLADA–you’ll be rich!!!

  29. GLS on June 1st, 2011 7:13 pm

Why is Saunders still on this team?

  30. SonOfZavaras on June 1st, 2011 8:11 pm

Why is Saunders still on this team?

Because Gutierrez is still clearly not 100% in game shape and he’s the only other glove besides Ichiro! that doesn’t take routes that look dictated by a possessed Ouija board.

    Pineda = THE BIG COLADA

I like this a lot! But, on the other hand, I’m clearly demented.

and he’s the only other glove besides Ichiro! that doesn’t take routes that look dictated by a possessed Ouija board.

This would be incredibly funny if it weren’t so blazingly true.
