No TV broadcast, stupid FOX. MLB Gameday for me.

Thanks Ibuprofen … I checked in just to see if anybody else was enjoying the “Ball up Streetball” program as much as I was (that ROOT is currently showing) instead of watching the Mariner game.

Big Fox is showing a Major League baseball game, but not the right game.

Well then, radio it shall be!

The Dodgers just put Rafael Furcal on the 15 day DL, I wonder if there are any teams that have a shortstop they aren’t using available. Juan Uribe, their 2b, is also on the DL, though he maybe coming off soon. It would help if the SS could also play some second base too.

So happy that Gutierrez is back, what a great throw!

Well, I guess two teams who are currently in second-place in their respective divisions wasn’t good enough for national TV, so we get to watch a stupid rain delay from San Francisco (of all places…and in June, no less!!) instead.

Oh well, guess I’ll just have to listen to the game and get my TV warmed up for Game 2 of the ‘Nucks-Bruins at 5 o’clock…lol!

are u watching the game? where?

  7. dingla on June 4th, 2011 1:52 pm

Ya’ll can listen to the game and watch the US vs Spain 🙂

  8. dingla on June 4th, 2011 1:57 pm

Remember when KSTW used to broadcast a few of the games each year?:) Too bad they didnt pick up this game 🙁

  9. scott19 on June 4th, 2011 2:00 pm

I miss those old days when Channel 11 used to have some games on the schedule…rather than just seemingly-endless reruns of Seinfeld and Friends.

  10. mlathrop3 on June 4th, 2011 2:03 pm

Seriously Figgins, go the F*!k away.

  11. mrnostalgia on June 4th, 2011 2:05 pm

    Way to be clutch Figgins

  12. Jamison_M on June 4th, 2011 2:07 pm

Three pitches, Figgins? Seriously??? I can’t believe this guy. MLB should take sympathy on us and let us terminate his ludicrous contract (relative to his play) and we can just part ways. We’ll move on to someone else and he’ll go to St. Louis where he’ll probably hit .300, walk a hundred times and steal 50 bases.

  13. Jamison_M on June 4th, 2011 2:08 pm

Nice inning, Fister! Way to rebound after a 3-run inning.

  14. Jamison_M on June 4th, 2011 2:16 pm

Brendan Ryan has stopped hitting… two or three more months of this and Wedge might take him out of the 2-hole.

  15. Ibuprofen on June 4th, 2011 2:17 pm

Can we officially be worried about Ichiro yet? He’s nearly hitting .250

  16. absolutsyd on June 4th, 2011 2:45 pm

Maybe it’s time he started batting right handed. Hahahahaha

  17. jephdood on June 4th, 2011 2:56 pm

    Two hits thru 6? Puke.

  18. mrnostalgia on June 4th, 2011 2:58 pm

I hate watching our normal, anemic offense. This game was over in the 2nd inning.

  19. absolutsyd on June 4th, 2011 3:23 pm

Dear lord, let anyone but figgins hit this inning. Please.

  20. Ibuprofen on June 4th, 2011 3:34 pm

    OLIVO!

  21. SenorStover on June 4th, 2011 3:37 pm

OLIVO has done it again, this guy is truly on a role!

  22. Ichirolling51 on June 4th, 2011 3:44 pm

Ichiro’s BABIP has got to be somewhere around .275, hopefully he can get that turned around.

Also, this game isn’t even on MLB Extra Innings, I was hopeing that I could at least join the 10 or so Rays fans and watch their braodcast.

  23. Breadbaker on June 4th, 2011 3:48 pm

They showed the last out on mlb.com.

I can tell that it must have been a great day in Seattle. This thread was dead today. Love to see the fight in the M’s this year. Another good pitching performance. A lot more fun to follow these M’s than last year.

  25. absolutsyd on June 4th, 2011 5:27 pm

It was amazing in Portland as well. Sadly I was stuck at work all damn day.

If the game had been televised, I might have watched. But staring at Gameday just isn’t the same – and while I might use a radio if I were gardening, right now my main outside task is mowing – and I don’t have a radio loud enough for that. 😀

I wonder how long before we see Figgy’s DFA after this turd of a game for him…

  28. jephdood on June 4th, 2011 7:15 pm

Was it really any “turdier” than most of his others?

  29. Edgar4Hall on June 4th, 2011 7:28 pm

Was it really any “turdier” than most of his others?

I think its just that the turds have turned into a fukl blown manure pile

  30. Westside guy on June 4th, 2011 7:29 pm

I’ll go out on a limb here and say – there’s not a chance in **** that Figgins gets DFA’ed.

  31. MrZDevotee on June 4th, 2011 8:16 pm

I’ll double what Westside said– there’s no way they’ll DFA Chone with $18 million still owed to the guy (actually $22million+, if you count the rest of this season)…

  32. MrZDevotee on June 4th, 2011 8:27 pm

If only the rest of the lineup could hit like Peguero (2 more hits today, including another of his patented “hit it so high in the sky they can’t see it” bloopers), we could have done something today!

(Just in case anyone was wondering, I’m NOT serious… Although I am of the “let’s give him time” crowd, before casting him aside… He was afterall an Arizona Fall League all-star, Player of the Week 5 times in the minors, a Futures Game player, an All-Star last year in the Southern League, etc.)

  33. MissouriMariner on June 4th, 2011 8:40 pm

I would love to say good-bye to Figgins. The dude just drives me nuts. I will say that I have never liked him and didn’t like the signing. I would just like him to go away. I would rather bring up someone and give them a shot and see what we have then run Figgins out to fail everyday.

  34. bongo on June 4th, 2011 10:21 pm

    Here’s a scary comparison:

    Ichiro: 265/317/299 (241 ABs)
    Ryan Langerhans: 173/317/346 (52 ABs)

    That’s right – Langerhans OPS > Ichiro.

Although I am of the “let’s give him time” crowd, before casting him aside…

Most people, myself included, think they should send him back to AAA, not release him.

There is some chance, perhaps small, that he will eventually figure out the strike zone enough to be a useful player.

Here is his minor league stats. In the lower minors, his BB/K ratio wasn’t quite as dreadful as it has been in AAA and MLB.

    “Rendon ours?”
    —-

Well it looks like Rendon will be a Mariner. If we are too scared with his injury history, then we should take Starling. Starling will be dumb not to sign. He is NOT an NFL QB, so he has no future in football beyond college, unless it’s as a WR. If he cares about money, and making a career for him self he will pick baseball. Plus with the new CBA the NFL will in all likelyhood have a rookie wage scale, so that’ll cut into his paycheck even more.

  38. Arron on June 5th, 2011 8:08 am

Churchill has an insider subscription scoop saying who he hears the Ms will pick over at Prospect Insider…it is NOT Rendon…
