Game 80, Red Sox at Mariners

Ramirez Furbush vs. Beckett, 7:10 pm.

Posting late enough that Ramirez has been removed early, apparently due to some kind of injury. I know Blake Beavan is still hanging around in Tacoma, but with Millwood coming up lame every other start as well, this team can’t really afford to lose guys out of the rotation. There may be sentiment to go ahead and call Hultzen up, but though he’s arguably already as good as the middling guys behind Felix, so far in Tacoma he’s showing there’s no reason to rush him.

RF-L Ichiro
CF-R Wells
3B-L Seager
DH-L Jaso
1B-B Smoak
2B-L Ackley
C-R Olivo
LF-B Figgins
SS-L Kawasaki

    Lucky vs good, Westy!

I think it was actually a Wee Willie Keeler quote.

  4. Slats on June 30th, 2012 10:59 pm

    Montero should be pinch hitting!

  5. justdave on June 30th, 2012 10:59 pm

Whoa, both Figgins and Olivo did something useful in this game…

  6. henryv on June 30th, 2012 10:59 pm

Chone Figgins for a deep fly ball? Really?!?

Might as well put Noesi in to prevent home runs.

  7. Westside guy on June 30th, 2012 10:59 pm

    LUCKY AGAIN!!!!!!

  8. msfanmike on June 30th, 2012 10:59 pm

    I love you Figgy!

  9. juneau_fan on June 30th, 2012 11:00 pm

Thank the gods. Wait, they will 2 games because Salty drops the ball twice?

I’ll take it. I’m missing my Saturday night Lockup:Raw after all.

  10. WTF_Ms on June 30th, 2012 11:00 pm

The good news is that Figgy’s trade value has gone way up tonight!

  11. henryv on June 30th, 2012 11:00 pm

Please tell me someone saw Kawasaki being creepy there!

  12. Slats on June 30th, 2012 11:00 pm

    Figgy!

  13. Breadbaker on June 30th, 2012 11:01 pm

It was not more strength Ross needed, it was more accuracy.

  14. justdave on June 30th, 2012 11:02 pm

    Trade Figgy now! 🙂 🙂 🙂

I want to see Wedge call for a suicide squeeze, one of these days…

Mid 80’s: in no way are we disagreeing. We only disagree on who should be calling the rule book. Human error is part of the deal.

I can certainly live with it, anyway. I might not always like it, but I can live with it.

I saw Kawasaki getting a little extra wrestle time with someone who was not Figgins … If that is what you mean.

I did see it and my wife noticed it too.

Muni definitely is a strange dude. I watched his entire routine when Ackley scored. Impossible to describe.

  19. vetted_coach on June 30th, 2012 11:09 pm

“a littleo extra wrestle time.”. I am doubled over laughing. What was that?!

  20. juneau_fan on June 30th, 2012 11:14 pm

A love that dare not speak its name?

  21. Westside guy on June 30th, 2012 11:16 pm

I think Muni is just in heaven right now, being in Major League Baseball and on the same roster as his idol, Ichiro.

He’s just living in the moment. I think it’s great, even if it’s a bit odd at times.

I love the jazz hands. I love the pushups at first base.

  22. msfanmike on June 30th, 2012 11:20 pm

It looked like he dove on your boy Wells for a few extra seconds of manly celebration. And with a weird grin to boot.

Maybe Muni has the Griffey tickle lead, now with his own interpretation thereof

Right elbow, arm numbness/twinge For Erasmo.

Yeah, wait for the MRI – but this sounds just like it looked.

  24. r-gordon-7 on June 30th, 2012 11:23 pm

I’m with you, Westy – all numbers aside, in an otherwise pretty bleak season, Muni’s quirky but genuinely heartfelt enthusiasm is a joy to watch… Often odd to be sure, but a joy nonetheless…

  25. msfanmike on June 30th, 2012 11:25 pm

@ Juneau: bring more scrabble words tomorrow

Don’t mess with the streak …………. Of one, that is

  26. juneau_fan on June 30th, 2012 11:31 pm

    Whatever it takes…

*sitting here with one sock on*

  27. Mid80sRighty on June 30th, 2012 11:36 pm

I somewhat agree Mike, I enjoy the human aspect. But, in my example it would give the umps the option of disagreeing with the computer, maintaining the human element.

  28. Mid80sRighty on June 30th, 2012 11:38 pm

Too many beers in an extra inning game..

  29. stevemotivateir on June 30th, 2012 11:47 pm

I’m late, but I wanted to point out, that I understood there were 7 active players on that list. The confusing part, was that they mentioned Ortiz. Maybe I heard wrong? Regardless of what Sims said, 7 is the correct number of active players. That number will change very soon, though!

Mike, I’m with you on Ramirez. Crap on a cracker, it’ll suck if another player goes down.

  32. Westside guy on July 1st, 2012 12:53 am

O-key, Henry, I gotta admit that was weird.

  33. stevemotivateir on July 1st, 2012 1:15 am

Who would have thought, that Kawasaki was the alpha-male on the club?!

  34. nvn8vbryce on July 1st, 2012 8:51 am

    I’m a tiny bit concerned about Henry…
