I just watched a replay (thank you mlb app) of Taijuan Walker’s dreadful start. He definitely lost the game in his 37 pitch 1st inning but he was really unfortunate in that inning.

The only bad pitch was his changeup to Ben Zobrist- right over the middle and thigh high. The 1st hit by Canha was a good pitch down and away in on his hands where the hitter did really well.

TW strikes out Country breakfast. At 2 outs and the count at 2-2 Ike Davis reaches down and away for his broken bat rbi double. Another quality pitch. Tip your hat to Davis.

The most important sequence in the inning is 2 outs to Brett Lawrie TW gets the count to 0-2 then walks him. The ball 4 pitch was right on the top of the strike zone in the EXACT same location of the very next pitch to Vogt which was called a strike. I mean right on top of each other.

If and buts, but if Taijuan is given that strike out to Lawrie, with the game at 0-2 I think Taijuan pitches a very different ball game. Instead his confidence is shattered and the rest is history. Hope you learn your lesson kid.

Okay, I know we’re 3-3 and tied for the lead in the West, but why does it FEEL like we’re 1-5? My wife and I couldn’t get past the feeling we lost yesterday, even though we knew we won. It was bizarre. These are the games we would have lost over the past decade, skipping a few heartbeats along the way.

I could get used to this “we didn’t play very well” when the results are .500 baseball. Especially coming against the A’s and Angels…

In fact, that Saturday win where Happ faced off with Sonny Gray is the type of win you look back on at the end of the season and realize you stole one there… When you’re #5 beats the #1 guy on one of the best staffs in baseball, that’s a nice day. Extra innings or not.

    Go M’s.

As a Canadian, I totally don’t mind your hockey tangent at the start. However, you mischaracterize the Maple Leafs to be like the Cowboys. Because, the Cowboys are one of the winningest teams in the history of their sport, including as recently as the 90s. The Leafs, however, have sucked balls for ages. And haven’t won a Cup since 1966. Much to the delight of the rest of Canada. #GoFlames

I’m going to the M’s/Dodgers games here in LA tomorrow and Wednesday. Excited!

I’d say that the Leafs are kinda like the Cowboys in that their stupid ass fans pretend like they’re the “Nation’s Team”, when in fact everyone except for their stupid ass fans hope that they lose every game, and get scabies.
