Go M’s!
mmmmmmmmmmmm schedule magnet!
hmmmm. just how many layers will it take to sit today in Safeco without freezing…
I envy all of you getting out to Safeco today. Being in NYC makes the trip a little too difficult 🙂
I’ll be watching, though!
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – baseball season!!!
Yayay! My season tickets kick in tomorrow night, and I have to thank Gardenhire for choosing to throw Radke tonight and Santana tomorrow. Obviously, he was thinking of me when he was making that decision. 😀
I can’t wait to watch the m’s tonite, and I am pumped cause I don’t have to watch it on mlb.tv, but MLB EXTEA INNINGS!!!!!!! FOR FREEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For those of you that have comcast digital cable, I believe you get MLB extra innings for free for the first week(I know I have the last 3 years). So it is nice for all you fantasy nerds like me.
Weather: Rain, 55F. After a bone-dry winter the rain and cold comes back in time for Opening Day.
But it’s OPENING DAY. And I’m taking the day off to go to the game. Hell yeah.
Seriously, go, Ms. And go, Jamie Moyer. My faith is lacking, but my wishes for you are abundant. Find that which once made you great, old and cherished friend.
And what the hell … go, Wilson Valdez. May you get in touch with your inner Ozzie Smith.
I’m so, so happy.
Alright, who is going home early today? Leaving @ 2:30 mountain.
ESPN2 right?
I don’t go to a game until Friday…but I am looking forward to it.
Cirillo’s first 3 ABs: HR, 2B, BB
Ah yes. Real games. Did anyone notice Cirillo has an RBI double and a solo homer in the Brewers’ opener? Small sample size, I know, but Opening Day is about nothing if not hope.
Go M’s! 90 wins!!!
Wheeee! Opening Day! Heading out the door to catch a bus downtown towards Safeco in a few minutes. High of 55 degrees today? I guess this is what we get for watching the Sox-Yankees opener last night and laughing at “how cold everyone out there looks”.
It doesn’t really matter though. Wheeee!
Finally! Although who would have thought Jeff Cirillo would start off his season by hitting a HR opening day.
Yeah, let’s go for 90. But I’m circling May 22 on my schedule. The Mariners will have completed a stretch of series against Texas, Oakland, Angels, Boston, Yankees, Boston, Yankees, San Diego. If they are anywhere near .500 after that stretch, this could indeed be an interesting year. Taking two of three from the highly touted Twins to start the year would suit me just fine, too. Go Jamie.
In a pregame interview this afternoon, Dave Niehaus asked Mike Hargrove what he thought about having “Wilson Nunez” as his opening day shortstop.
I don’t know what’s harder to believe — Cirillo hitting the homer or batting sixth (!!!??!) in a Major League opening day lineup.
Call your shot mariners 76-86 3rd place…anyone
Speaking of ex-Mariners: Interesting to see Griffey batting #2 (!) for Cincinatti. As far as I can tell from Retrosheet, this is his first time there since April 18, 1990 (his second year in the majors). He was the M’s #2 hitter for his rookie year, then hit #5 for a while the following year before settling into his customary #3 slot on June 23, 1990.
Nothing new under the sun, indeed….
Thank goodness for ESPN Gamecast, anyway.
I especially hate being out of market this time of year.
Nice to see Safeco fans already in midseason form: Bloomquist and Wilson got twice the ovation that Beltre did.
#21 Same here. I get to watch Arizona vs Chicago instead. Listening to the audio stream is always fun anyway.
92 wins
My office got a little dusty after that ’95 montage. I think there’s something in my eye.
Woot! Moyer strikes out the first batter faced!
Two down! How long till we get to see Ichiro – Reed – Belte?
Ichiro – Reed – Beltre
Wow, that sounds good.
SUUUUUUUWHEEEEEETTTTT!!!!
Ichiro basehit
Beltre gets on base via error
Sexson homerun!
I might as well go home, I’m not getting any work done.
Un-freakin-believable!!!!
Sexson 2-2, 2HR, 5RBI.
My best guess is 72 wins this year. I’m not happy about it, but I think it’s realistic given all the question marks on the M’s pitching.
