Larry Stone wrote a piece in the Times today encouraging Stand Pat to make a move. Now that we’re past the all-star break, everyone will turn their attention to the trade deadline, including we here at the U.S.S. Mariner. So, tommorrow, I’m busting out my trade deadline preview, breaking down possible available players, their costs, and the reality of their chances to be moved. Later this week, I’ll be updating the Future Forty, giving us the closest possible update on just how valuable the players are that the M’s will be (hopefully) parting with.

One thing is certain, though. If The Box has to pencil the names Bloomquist, McLemore, Mabry, and Wilson into a starting lineup in October, I’ll throw something.
