From the M’s site (full article):

As for defense, Spiezio probably will make more errors than Cirillo but also get to more balls.

“Cirillo’s range wasn’t very good,” [3B coach Dave] Myers said. “You never saw him dive for a ball. He didn’t have a ‘step-and-dive’ mentality. In that respect, [Spiezio] might make some great plays over there, something we haven’t seen in a couple of years.”

Uh, wow. Say what you will about Cirillo’s hitting, but I always thought he was pretty darned good defensively.

Several articles, including this one, claim that with Mulholland and Owens, the M’s are now inviting 19 players to camp. I just want to go on record to say that I believe that’s wrong, that they’re only inviting 18 players. At the same time, I’m willing to be incorrect on this one. If you know who the 19th player is, please let me know. I’ve added Mulholland and Owens to the Big Board so you can see who my 18 are.

The domain I’ve been using for the past 3 years for my email address went kaput this morning, so I’m in the market for a new hosting service. I don’t like webmail, so I’m basically looking for a POP3 server that will give me a free address and isn’t spam-o-licious. I have no idea of these even exist, but I figured if one does, someone out there would know about it, and could point me in the right direction. Drop me a line with any leads, and I’ll be forever indebted to you. Or, at least thankful.
